Sumatra Heritage Trust (BWS) is a non-profit organization
committed to preserving the cultural heritage of Sumatra.
Founded in 1998 by a group of passionate academics
and professionals.
BWS champions conservation, education, and community collaboration. Following a reorganization in 2020,
the organization rebranded itself as Beranda Warisan Sumatra, while proudly retaining the BWS abbreviation.
BWS also established the Pan-Sumatra Network for Heritage Conservation (Pansumnet), focusing on uniting
organizations and individuals dedicated to protecting
Sumatra’s cultural legacy.
